| Biography |  Published by kris | The star of the 'Alien' films has always worked hard to portray strong women on the big screen.
Born in New York, she had entertaiment in her blood, thanks to her NBC president father and actress mother. After studying acting, she took her first film role in 1977 in Woody Allen's ' Annie Hall', before making her mark in the first Alien film in 1979. In 1982 she acted opposite Mel Gibson in 'The Year of Living Dangerously' , before making other eighties classics 'Working Girl' and 'Ghostbusters'. 'Aliens' was released in 1986, after which she took time out of the limelight. She came back in 1992 to play Ellen Ripley again in 'Alien 3' and 'Alien Resurrection' in 1997.
Her other films include 'Death and the Maiden', 'Copycat', 'Galaxy Quest' and 'The Village'. |
