| Biography |  Published by umathurmanlove | Uma Thurman was born on 29th Avril 1970, in Boston, Massachusetts. She grew up in a bohemian world of intellectuals and spent several years in India during her childhood with her parents.
They passed their independence and spirit of adventure on to their daughter, who left home at 15 to live in New York. She made ends meet with part-time modelling and restaurant work, but dreamt of being an actress, and after several small roles in low-budget films, she shot ' The Adventures of Baron Munchausen' with Terry Gilliam, which raised her profile ans saw her typecast as the Sexy Young Girl. Before long, she was in demand for roles with a an erotic element, such as June in 'Henry and June'.
Thanks to Quentin Tarantino, she finally became a household name for her performance as Mia in 'Pulp Fiction', which received several Oscar nominations. More recently, she has made 'The Truth About Cats and Dogs' amongst many others, but is probably best known for her role in the Kill Bill films. |
