David Bowie and Cream to Be Honoured

David Bowie and rock trio Cream are set to be honoured at the next Grammy Awards.

The icons of British rock are set to receive Lifetime Achievement Awards, along with country legend Merle Haggard, blues man Robert Johnson, opera singer Jessye Norman, folk group Weavers and the comedian Richard Pryor.

The nominations for the evenings main awards were dominated by Mariah Carey, John Legend and Kanye West, with eight apiece.

The Grammy Awards will be presented on February 7th, 2006.
