Mariah Carey, Kanye West and John Legend are the first artists confirmed to participate at the 48th annual Grammy Awards. The three artists have also dominated the nominations list, each competing in eight categories. The winners will be announced at the awards ceremony, which will take place on February 8th, 2006. Carey and West have both been nominated in the Record of the Year category, with Carey up against Legend, among others, for the Best R&B Song.
