Nicole Kidman has announced that she will be promoting the rights of women around the world on behalf of the United Nations. The star has been made a goodwill ambassador of the United Nations Development Fund (Unifem), which will see the 38 year-old actress promoting an end to violence against women and equal rights for both sexes. She has been an abassador for Unicef since 1994, but is said to be keen to use her status to reach women all over the world. Her recent filme, The Interpreter was the first film ever to be shot inside the UN headquarters in New York. |
