Brit beauty Rachel Weisz has won Best Supporting Actress for The Constant Gardner.
The heavily pregnant actress beat off strong opposition from Brokeback Mountain's Michelle Williams and Capote's Catherine Keener after she was pipped to the post two weeks ago at the Baftas by Reese Witherspoon.
Despite securing herself a place as one of Hollywood's big hitters, Weisz is planning on a taking a break from the limelight after she gives birth in May. The star admitteded that it was s hock to hear her name being called out, saying that:"Because I'M pregnant my brain is a bit like porridge. I think I was a big blank when my name was called. I was just feeling kind of strange."
The Oscar comes as the perfect birthday gift for the actress, who celebrates her 35th birthday today. |
