Ex-Sex and the City star Kristen Davis has spoken out about the show that helped her make her name, saying that the importance placed on looks and style, made her turn to binge-eating.
The actress, who played Charlotte York, says that pressure to be slim and criticism from the show's producers made her seek solace in food, as constant dieting and a harsh exercise regime took their toll.
The 40 year-old actress told gossip site The Scooop that the mains themes of conversation on-set were diets and exerice routines and that one particular comment about her size from the press made her binge even more. When a reporter commented that she wouldn't be playing the lead in the show because she was too big, she: " immediately walked to the drug store and bought a bunch of cookies because that was my reaction... to rebel and say, 'To hell with you, I'M going to eat what I want.'" |
