Lord of the Rings Opens on Live Stage

The musical Lord of the Rings premiered last Thursday, in Toronto.

The three and a half hour-long production cost $30 million Canadian and took four years to put together.  Director Matthew Warchus is said to be disappointed however, after critics branded the adaptation of the JRR Tolkien book "largely incomprehensible."

Lord of the Rings is at Toronto's Princess of Wales Theatre , featuring 55 artists, 17 elevators and 500 costumes.
