Babyshambles frontman Pete Doherty, avoided prison by pleading guilty to multiple charges of drug possession. The English singer and former on-off boyfriend of Kate Moss was sentenced to two years of community service and 18 months in a drug treatment facility. According to the judge who handed down the verdict, Judge Jane McIvor, Doherty's efforts to leave drugs behind him would be "a long and slow process," but she praised him for "showing significant signs of compliance and effort." However, her words came back to haunt her just three hours later, as Doherty was arrested once again on fresh drug offences in the East End. |
