Columbian singer Shakira took home six trophies after the recent Latin Billboard Music Awards. Shakira and her disc, Oral Fixation Vol 1, took the title of Best Latin Pop Album of the Year. She won in several other categories, including earning an award for Best Duo with singer Sanz and their song The Torture. The 29 year-old singer was also given the Spirit of Hope awards, which recognizes the charity work of an artist. Shakira has been involved with improving the lives of children in her country. Puerto Rican reggae singer Daddy Yankee earned three trophies at the ceremony, including Latin Album of the Year. Other winners were Dominican singer Andy Andy and the Mexican group RBD. |
