American actor Heath Ledger has been chosen at the last minute over Colin Farrell to play Bob Dylan in the film I'M Not There. According to The Mirror, Ledger, who starred in Brokeback Mountain, is the final choice of filmmaker Todd Haynes (Far From Heaven) to play the well-known singer-songwriter. Farrell, 29, entered a drug treatment facility in December. In total, six actors will play Dylan at various times of his life, including Richard Gere and Christian Bale. Bob Dylan himself has waived his royalty rights to help finance the film. Aimee Mann of The White Stripes, along with others, will be performing Dylan's songs. Filming for I'M Not There is set to begin later this summer. |
