The legendary band The Beatles has lost their legal battle with Apple Computer over the use of its name and logo on iTunes. Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr and the families of John Lennon and George Harrison, who are all the owners of The Beatles company, Apple Corps, were behind the suit. The long-running law suit argued that the Apple Computer logo was imposing on the patent rights of the logo used by Apple Corps. On Monday, a judge in England ruled that the American computer company was not breaching a 1991 agreement between the two companies to not stray into eachother's line of business. Apple Computer was founded in 1976. Apple Corps, who owns the commercial rights of The Beatles, was founded in 1968. |
