Oscar winner Tom Hanks has admitted cheating on his first wife. In an interview for the June issue of Esquire magazine, the Da Vinci Code star revealed that he cheated on his former wife, Samantha Lewes, in 1978. Hanks, 49, is now happily married to Rita Wilson. The two met while working on the film Volunteers. The actor who won an Oscar for his role in Forrest Gump, is known for keeping his private life to himself, but told the magazine that "Rita and I just looked at each other and - kaboing - that was that. I asked Rita if it was the real thing for her, and it just couldn't be denied." He added, "Well, yeah, I did happen to be married at the time. And there's nothing to celebrate about that." Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson were married in 1988 and have have two children, Chester, 15, and Truman, 10. |
