Madonna has hit back at right-wing Christian groups who have comdemmed her use of Christian symbols, inlcuding a crucifiction scene on the opening night of her world tour.
The Hung Up star, 47, claims that the eye-popping stunt was designed to encourage fans to give more money to AIDS charities. She shocked audiences last week, when by performing on a mirrored cross wearing a crown of thorns in a mock crucifiction, as images of African AIDS victims flashed by on a screen behind her.
