New dad Tom Cruise has hit back at claims that his fiancée Katie Holmes is suffering from post-natal depression after the birth of their daughter Suri, following a string of reports in the media.
Several publications on both sides of the Atlantic ran stories alleging that the Dawson's Creek star, 27, was suffering from the baby blues. A spokesperson for Cruise has rubbished the stories, saying "those reports are not true. Ms Holmes is doing wonderfully."
Cruise came under fire last year after he criticised his friend Brooke Sheilds for using medication to help her through the post-partum depression she experienced following the birth of her daughter Rowan, in 2003, saying that vitamins could be used for treatment. Ms Sheilds hits back with: "I'M going to take a wild guess and say that Mr Cruise has never suffered from post-partum depression. Tom should stick to saving the world from aliens and let women decide what treatment is best." |
