The Passion of the Christ Is Most Controversial Film

Mel Gibson's The Passion of the Christ, has been chosen as the most controversial film in the history of cinema.

In an Entertainment Weekly survey, the film, which chronicles the last twelve hours of the life of Jesus Christ, was voted the most controversial film ever made, beating Stanley Kubrick's 1971 film A Clockwork Orange.

Director Oliver Stone had two films on the list, including JFK (1991) in fifth place, and Natural Born Killers (1994), which came in at number 13.
