American TV mogul Oprah Winfrey has hit back at rumors that she is a lesbian, in her eponymous publication, Oprah Magazine. O, the official magazine of the American TV Queen Oprah Winfrey, sets the record straight on the star's sexual orientation, denied recent rumours surrounding her friendship with editor Gayle King. The pair have been friends for almost 30 years and rumours have recently surfaced alleging a secret relation between the two, after it was revealed that they call each other up to four times a day. The rumours have proved to be unfounded though. In the August issue of O, the Oprah Magazine, the talk-show host explains: "I understand why people think we're gay. There isn't a definition in our culture for this kind of bond between women. So I get why people have to label it -- how can you be this close without it being sexual?" The two friends say they would have no problem telling the public if they were in a sexual relationship. Gayle is quite clear on that: "The truth is, if we were gay, we would tell you, because there's nothing wrong with being gay," |
