Multimillionaire Irish actor Colin Farrel says he is enjoying life without drugs, and that his son keeps him going. Colin is addicted to sedatives and suffers from continuous exhaustion, which made him to turn to rehab. The 30-year old star of the movie Alexander (2004), wants to stay clean, for the sake of his 2 year-old son, James. "I was burning the candle at both ends and flames met in the middle. It just caught up with me. It was a long time coming but I had my arse handed to me on a plate. Now I haven't had a drink in six months. I have a new-found appreciation for my life. I wasn't suicidal but I never had much of a will to live for a long time. Now I want to watch my son grow up, be his friend and his father, and hang around with him. So he's the greatest priority in my life," explains Farrel. The actor, who played Captain John Smith in The New World, has had a troubled past and is known to have taken drugs like Ecstasy, which increases the heart beat and blood pressure. He is also a known drinker and smoker, it's said that he smoked nearly 6 packs a day while shooting Phone Booth in 2002. |
