Colombian singer Shakira has spoken out against the violence in Lebanon. The 29 year-old star, who's Hips Don't Lie, with Wyclef Jean recently shot to number one, has demanded that world powers find a way to stop the conflict in the region. Shakira's father is Lebanese. As she accepted an award in Mexico, Shakira told the crowd, "It breaks my heart to know that while this is happening, we stay silent. I hope that my generation will call on the world powers to stop this conflict, to intervene. There must be an international intervention as soon as possible.". |
