The long-awaited pictures of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes's four-month-old daughter Suri have finally seen the light of day, prior to their publication in this month's US Vanity Fair. The magazine devotes an unprecedented 22 pages to the family, featuring pictures of Suri and her parents, alongside an interview, during which Holmes slams public speculation about her family with: "The moment the doctor handed me Suri, I was just ready. The feeling is indescribable. All I can say is the moment I looked in her eyes I felt like ... Mom," The couple also spoke of their bewilderment over the media interest in their tiny daughter, describing themselves as a normal family.
The pictures are the first of the family together to reach the public, amid speculation that the Annie Leibovitz shoot was timed to aid Cruise's failing career, after he was dropped by Paramount Studios last week.
Suri is thought to have been sheltered from the media following the teachings of L Ron Hubbard, leader of the Church of Scientology, of which both Cruise and Holmes are avid followers. |
