Rumours are abroad that Madonna is to become the latest celeb to adopt. The 48-year-old singer, who has two children, Lourdes, 9, and Rocco, 5, is currently visiting orphanages in impoverished Malawi, Central Africa, and is to make substantial donations towards projects to help chidlren there. Malawi has a huge problem with AIDS orphans and overflowing orphanages. Government ministers said they had selected orphans for Madonna to choose from and exempted her from the usual ban on non-resident adoptions. However, Madonna's rep has denied the rumours, confirming only that Madonna was visiting orphanages as part of her charity work in Malawi. |
