It turns out that Yohane Banda left his son David in an orphanage to re-marry following the death of David's mother Marita. Madonna appeared on BBC2's Newsnight on Wednesday to defend her adoption of little David in the UK. She confirmed that his family has abandoned him and that she was told they had not even visited the one-year-old in the oprhanage, which is miles away from their home. Madonna has been heavily criticised for not giving David's father the financial aid to bring up his son, but she gave Yohane the option of aid and he refused, saying he would prefer her to take his son and give him a better life. |
