Green Day to release old albums

Fans of Californian rockers Green Day, will be able to buy some of the trio's older, lesser-known albums in time for Christmas.

On December 19th the group will re-release 1,039/ Smoothed Out Slappy Hours and Kerplunk! , which originally appeared under the independent label Lookout! Records.  After resolving a copyright dispute, Green Day were able to re-edit the recordings, which were released in 1990 and 1992, long before they hit the big-time. Their breakthrough came with 1994's Dookie.
