Comedian Russell Brand is set to host next year's BRIT awards and has promised 'mayhem'.
The awards will be shown on live TV for the first time in nearly 20 years - the last time being the infamous 1989 ceremony hosted by Samantha Fox and Mick Fleetwood, who fluffed their lines and made a general hash-up of it.
Russell told The Sun: "I will do my level best to tear it up. It is going to be like The Rock and roll Brits of old, returned to the controlled mayhem and danger. I am going to be the ringleader in this carnival of mayhem and I'M really looking forward to it." .
The awards have become 'too tame and boring' in recent years, with no Jarvis Cocker present to provide improptu entertainment..
The BRITS will take place in Earls Court in London on 14th February. Oasis are to be honoured with an award for Outstanding Contribution to British Music. |
