Noel Gallagher is in hot water over comments he made to The Sun about troops serving in Iraq.
The Oasis guitarist said that wounded troops should stop whingeing about injuries sustained in the line of duty. Black Watch (3 Scots) Commanding Officer Ben Wrench issued a statement from the UK base in Shaibah, near Basra in southern Iraq, saying that no solider ever volunteered to get blown up.
Oasis have a somewhat fraught relationship with the British Army after they threatened to sue over a promotional video which used an Oasis song without the band's permission. The video had to be withdrawn. |
