| Hit film Babel from Mexican filmmaker Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu has been nominated in no less than seven categories for the Golden Globes. The drama, which stars Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett, is up for best film of the year alongside Bobby, The Departed, Little Children and The Queen. The contenders for Best Actress are Penelope Cruz (Volver), Judi Dench (Notes On A Scandal), Helen Mirren (The Queen), Kate Winslet (Little Children), and Maggie Gyllenhaal (SherryBaby). For Best Actor, the nominees are Leonardo DiCaprio (The Departed), Leonardo DiCaprio (Blood Diamond), Peter O'Toole (Venus), Will Smith (The Pursuit Of Happyness) and Forest Whitaker (The Last King Of Scotland). Clint Eastwood was nominated twice in the best director category for Flags of Our Fathers and Letters from Iwo Jima. The other directors up for the award are Stephen Frears (The Queen), Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu (Babel), and Martin Scorsese (The Departed).
