Angelina Jolie has insisted she supports Madonna's adoption of David Banda from Malawi, and that her words were misconstrued in an interview. Angelina, who has two adopted children, was quoted as saying: "Madonna knew the situation in Malawi, where (David) was born. Personally, I prefer to stay on the right side of the law." More recently, she insisted, "I said many positive things that were omitted. I feel we must focus on the present and I encourage everyone to be supportive." Ange added that she was shocked by the media reaction to Madonna's adoption, saying, "I have been horrified by the attacks she's been subjected to.” It is rumoured the intense criticism Madonna has received over the adoption has put Angelina and boyfriend Brad Pitt off adopting a baby from India, where they worked last year. The couple have a multi-racial 'rainbow family:' baby daughter Shiloh, Maddox, 5, from Cambodia, and Zahara, 2, from Ethiopia. Angelina is becoming ever less reluctant to talk about her relationship with Brad. Asked whether she loved the 43-year-old actor, she replied simply, "Yes, I love him. I love him a lot." |
