It was set to be the celebrity wedding of the year, and Liz Hurley has been pulling out all the stops in preparation for her big day: meticulously-planned ceremonies in Gloucestershire and India, fitness régimes for herself and fiancé Arun Nayar, dress codes for the guests and a punishing diet to ensure she fits into her size 8 Versace wedding dress (no food after 4pm - just the thought of it is ebough to make us reach for the biscuits...).
But the pair could see their big day upstaged, because Bollywood royalty Aishwarya Rai and Abhisnek Bachan have just announced their engagement. The pair are two of India's biggest stars - handsome Abhisnek is the country's most famous actor, Aishwarya is a former Miss World, budding actress, the face of L'Oreal and is considered the most beautiful woman in India - and their wedding will be the most glamorous affair their country has ever seen, according to sources - elephants and all!
Aishwarya and Abhisnek got engaged in New York recently, and their cuptials are set to take place around the time of Liz and Arun's Indian ceremony, in late February to early March, because it's a good astrological window for weddings. |
