David Morrissey is to star opposite Sharon Stone in the long awaited sequel to Basic Instinct.
It will be the first major role for the little known british actor, who appeared in Captain Correlli's Mandolin. Morrisey beat stiff competition from Gabriel Byrne, Kevin Costner and Kurt Russell, to land the part of criminal psychologist, Andrew Glass.
'Basic Instinct 2: Risk Addiction' will again see novelist, Catherine Tramell (Stone) luring an investigator into a dangerous game of seduction.
The first film made 353 million at the box office in 1992.
