The Brad Pitt/Jannifer Aniston separation seems to have been the result of an Pitt's ultimatum about having children. According to London newspaper The Sun, which cited friends of the couple, Pitt demanded a baby by the end of the year. The 41 year old husband could not wait any longer, while Aniston, 35, was not prepared to put her career on hold, causing the couple to decide to put an end to their four year marriage. According to the same newspaper, Brad Pitt's desire to have children was inspired by his Mr and Mrs Smith co-star, Angelina Jolie. Jolie brought her three year old son Maddox to the set every day of filming and according tor eports, Pitt spent his free time playing with the boy. According to other sources, a fledgling relationship between Pitt and Jolie that was at the root of the separation. The tabloid News of the World states that Jolie and Pitt were leaving steamy phone messages for each other, which Aniston then discovered. Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston met in 1998.
