Supermodel Naomi Campbell has spoekn out about skinny models, but insists the fashion industry is not to blame for the recent spate of deaths from anorexia, and the endsuing debate over BMI limits. According to Naomi, models that are too skinny have their own psychological issues. At the Elle Style Awards, Campbell who won the title of model of the year, said, "You can't blame the industry for a psychological disease. It is a disease, like alcohol or drugs, and the industry is not to blame." For the last few months, the fashion industry has been struggling to to deal with the issues of super-skinny models after two anorexic Brazilian models lost their lives. Many are calling for a ban on clinically underweight models at catwalk shows, a measure already in place in Madrid. |
