After Janet Jackson's nipple flashing debacle at last year's Super Bowl, its organisers have chosen Alicia Keyes for a more tranquil show. Keyes will perform "America the Beautiful", accompanied by 150 Florida school children. The song was a hit for Ray Charles in 1972, and he too performed live at the USA's most famous football event. On hearing the news, Keyes said, "I'M very excited to be playing at the Super Bowl for the first time, especially because I will be singing a song made famous by an artist I admire, miss and respect." |
