Ryan Phillippe has revealed his seven-year-old daughter Ava Elizabeth is getting him through his divorce from Reese Witherspoon.
Ryan and Reese are staying strong for the sake of Ava and her little brother Deacon, who is three, but their break-up has been tough on everyone.
The golden couple separated last October after seven years of marriage, and Phillippe says it was "the most devastating time in (his) life". He told Ellen DeGeneres, "Going through something like this, as difficult as it is, my daughter has been the inspiration - my seven-year-old daughter Ava. I know it sounds pathetic. I'M a 32-year-old guy, but my seven-year-old daughter is getting me through the toughest time in my life, and that's beautiful too."
Ryan says that while Ava is being incredibly mature about the end of her parents' marriage, little Deacon is also keeping him cheerful. He said, "He's all right, you know. I mean, three-year-olds. He's fun, every day he says something that makes me laugh, warms my heart. They're hanging in there. It ain't easy. It's devastating, but the bottom line is the focus on the children, and they're doing amazingly well and that's really all that matters." |
