Jennifer Lopez has been given a top award by Amnesty International for her humanitarian work through her new film Bordertown. The Wedding Planner star received her award at the Berlin Film Festival. In Bordertown, which is based on real happenings in Mexico, her character tries to shed some light on unresolved and disturbing murder cases that made the town unsafe for working women but were largely ignored. The 37-year-old plays alongside Antonio Banderas and Martin Sheen. Jen plays a journalist who starts investigating the murders committed on women by a serial killer in the city of Ciudad Juarez. At the ceremony, Lopez was apparently very humbled when she was introduced to Nobel prizewinner Jose Ramos Horta. |
