American actor Robert De Niro met movie director Martin Scorsese in a bid to convince him into making a sequel to the movie Taxi Driver. De Niro would like to have the opportunity to replay the part of Vietnam veteran, Travis Bickle, as he did in 1976. His performance won him an Oscar nomination. The actor would work on the script according to Ireland On-Line. De Niro, 61, says: "I was talking with Martin Scorsese about doing what I guess you'd call a sequel to Taxi Driver, where he is older." De Niro is currently enjoying box-office success with Meet the Fockers. The film has grossed 250 million dollars since its US release on 22 December. |
