Gwyneth Paltrow has been slammed by the daughter of Marlene Dietrich, who says she's too thin to play the part of Dietrich in an upcoming film based on the screen icon's life. Maria Riva is inimpressed with the directors' casting choice, and says all of today's actresses are too skinny to portray Marlene Dietrich. Riva said, "There wasn't a star in Hollywood back in Marlene Dietrich's era that was as thin as today's actresses." Riva's close friend, actress Grace Bradley Boyd, agrees that the curvier stars of yesterday are nothing like the super-skinny waifs in Hollywood: "Marlene, Joan Crawford, Paulette Goddard - all of us were shapely." |
