The Killers, Oasis, Razorlight, Kaiser Chiefs and Travis are set to release versions of Beatles songs for a tribute album. They've recorded classics from the Fab Four's Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band album. The tribute, organised by the BBC, will celebrate the fortieth anniversary of the release of their first album, Please Please Me, in 1967. Sound engineer Geoff Emerick, who worked with The Beatles on the original album, will work on the new recordings using the same equipment used for the originals. The finished product will be aired on June 2nd on the BBC and BBC Radio 2. |
