After years of deliberation, The Beatles have finally come to an agreement with EMI over royalties. Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr and the estates of John Lennon and George Harrison have been battling EMI in the courts over royalties from album sales since 2005. A spokesperson for EMI confirmed that the two sides have reached an agreement, saying, "I can confirm that we have reached a mutually acceptable settlement and that we are not going to say anything more than that." In the original court documents filed, The Beatles claimed that EMI owed the band members nearly $60 million US. |
