Paris Hilton fans have appealed to Arnold Schwarzenegger to stop the hotel heiress from being sent to prison. The petition, online since yesterday, appeals to former actor and current governor of California to pardon Hilton. A spokesman for Schwarzenegger said it was, "premature to engage in a discussion over the petition until Paris Hilton has exhausted all of her legal remedies." He also said that Governor Schwarzenegger only intervenes in special cases. Last Friday, lawyers for 26-year-old Hilton filed an appeal in a Los Angeles court. Hilton was sentenced to 45 days in jail, starting on June 5th. Hilton was found guilty of driving her car while on a suspended licence. She had been stopped twice by police within the space of a few months for driving under the influence, speeding and driving without headlights. By Wednesday morning, more than 3,000 people had signed the petition |
