Paris Hilton has been behind the wheel of her car again just days after being handed a prison sentence for violating probation and driving whilst on a suspended licence. However, according to the Department of Motor Vehicles, the hotel heiress is now allowed to drive again because her licence has been reinstated following her suspension in November. The 26-year-old was followed by paparazzi as she drove her £100,000 Blue Bentley convertible around Los Angeles earlier this week. Apparently Paris was lost and had to perform 3 U-turns. Perhaps she was looking for a lawyer who could help her get out of her jail sentence? The socialite is set for 45 days behind bars starting on 5th June. According to sources, she's sacked her lawyer and hired a different legal team in a last-ditch attempt to avoid doing time. Paris says she's prepared to 'face the consequences' of her actions - but still thinks she's being treated unfairly. "After reading the media's coverage of my court hearing, I feel the need to correct what I believe are misperceptions about me," she said. "I absolutely realize how serious driving under the influence is. I could not live with myself if anyone was injured or killed while I was driving while impaired. Clearly, no one should - no matter how slightly. I am ready to face the consequences of violating probation. No one is above the law. I surely am not. I do not expect to be treated better than anyone else who violated probation. However, my hope is that I will not be treated worse." |
