Singer James Blunt has appealed to the Superior Court of London to help him claim royalties he says he's owed. The former soldier turned You're Beautiful crooner wants to invalidate a decision blocking royalty payments he says he has the right to for his Back to Bedlam album. Producer Lukas Burton has some right to songs, and is preventing Blunt from touching sums of money he says are rightfully his. Burton claims that he co-wrote six songs on the 2004 album, and that before worked on them, Blunt's lyrics were "crude, occasionally laughably direct and betrayed his relative lack of musicianship". Ouch! The singer wants to reverse the decision and claim full royalties himself. Back to Bedlam sold more than 11 million copies around the world. |
