The lawsuit filed for defamation by actress Ashley Olsen, has been raised significantly. Access Hollywood has learned that the eighteen-year old star, is asking the magazine National Enquirer and it's parent company American Media, Inc. for $40 million dollars in a bid to clear her name. A representative for the defendents stated, "We stand by the accuracy of the published information and intend to vigorously defend the lawsuit." The young woman was furious when she learn of the publication of an article in the US tabloid, alleging that she is involved in a drug scandal. The story also included a photo of the star, and a caption which implied that she was under the influence of drugs or alcohol. The defendents stated that they have documents linking a former boyfriend of the star, Scott Sartiano, to drug trafficking. |
