Celebs unite against AIDS

Celebrities joined forces yesterday at the Cannes Film Festival to raise money for the fight against AIDS.

Actress Sharone Stone was the auctioneer, while Kylie Minogue and Julian Lennon sang. Dita Von Teese performed a striptease dance, and a record amount of money was collected.

The event was organised by the American Foundation for AIDS Research, and raised $7 million.

It was the second benefit event in two nights at Cannes: the cast of Ocean's Thirteen also raised $9.2 million for Darfur.
