Madonna, Tobey Maguire, Gwyneth Paltrow and Rupert Everett have all been named in a new book that exposes lousy celebrity tippers. New York waitress Katherine Taylor wrote the book "Rules for Saying Goodbye", in which she lists the stars who leave the least to the staff who wait on them. Taylor insists that all of the anecdotes in her book are true, and come from her experience as a bartender in New York's West Village. Taylor writes, "Gwyneth Paltrow came in. I wanted to tell her that I had been making a list and she was on it, but Gwyneth was not stingy, only stupid. I thought she probably couldn't calculate 15 per cent." The book lists Madonna, Maguire, Everett, Barbra Streisand and John Travolta's wife, Kelly Preston, as leaving no tips at all. Another story from the book reveals, "Paul McCartney was once too drunk to tip". |
