Fans eagerly awaiting new material from Britney Spears will have to be patient - the singer's new release won't hit the shops before 2008, according to Britney's publicist. The troubled singer, who has had two children, got married, separated from her husband and been through rehab since her last album was released, has been performing live at small venues and is hoping to make a massive comeback, but the new release has been put on hold at least until the new year. Britney's rep Leslie Sloane Zelnick has revealed that the album will not be released this autumn, as previously planned. Zelnick said, "I put her on hiatus. Brit's album is pushed until '08." However, a source close to the star claims that Jive Records now believes that Spears' career is already over. The source said, "I'M surprised the album wasn't pushed back to 2009. Everything's up in the Air with the album right now." |
