Tom Cruise will not be permitted to shoot a film on a German military base due to his Scientology connections. The actor is working on the film Valkyrie, which recounts the story of a German officer who plans to assassinate Adolf Hitler during World War II. Filming has been stopped on the military base by the German minister of defense, who believes that Cruise will use the film to promote Scientology. According to FemaleFirst, Defense Minister Harald Kammerbauer said that Cruise, "will not be allowed to film at German military sites if Count Stauffenberg is played by Tom Cruise, who has publicly professed to being a member of the Scientology cult". Valkyrie is being directed by Bryan Singer, who also directed X-Men.
