Julia Roberts honoured

Actress Julia Roberts has been chosen to receive the American Cinematic Award to recognize her career.

The actress, who has earned an Oscar as Best Actress, was the committee's unanimous choice.  The prize, which was given to George Clooney last year, will be presented to Roberts in October in Beverly Hills.

Since 1986, actors, directors and writers have been honoured by the organisation.  The event also raises money for young filmmakers who hope to produce films.
