Madonna officially sold her shares in the company Maverick Records. According to FemaleFirst, Madonna sold off shares in the company she co-owned for over 12 years. The singer owned 60% of the company with her partners Guy Oseary and Ronnie Dashev, while Warner Music Group owns the other 40%. There has been friction for some time between Maverick Records and Warner Music, which pushed the two companies against one another. Madonna accepted Warner Music's offer but according to Maverick's lawyer, Bert Fields, Madonna, 49, will still record with Warner Music. He stated, "It was an effective way of settling the lawsuit. It's clean and equitable, and it doesn't have anything to do with her record contract." |
