Singer Michael Jackson almost found himself in jail today. Arriving late for his trial in Santa Maria, California, the star was granted leniency from the judge. Judge Rodney Melville decided against arresting the singer, who arrived 5 minutes later than the hour that the judge originally granted him. If the judge had decided otherwise, the star would have been in violation of his $3 million bail, and would have lost the money, as well as being sent to jail. Jackson is allegedly suffering with a serious back problem, which is why he was late. The singer arrived in court today wearing pajama bottoms and a jacket. This is the second time the singer was not on time at the court house. The first time he was hospitalized with the flu. |
