Owen Wilson is "doing well" and still "making people laugh", according to director Wes Anderson.
The 38-year-old actor, who cancelled his appearance at the Venice Film Festival after attempting to commit suicide last week, hasn't lost his sense of humour and will soon reveal the truth about his suicide bid, insists close friend Anderson.
Anderson, who was in Venice on Sunday (02.09.07) to promote his new film 'The Darjeeling Limited' starring Owen, said: "When he's ready he's going to speak for himself much better than anyone else could. He has a very good way with words.
"I just want you to know how excited I am to have the film showing here. It means a great deal to me, and it also means a great deal to Owen, who wants me to express to you how much it means to him and to say that he wishes he could be with us.
"We all miss having him here very much. Obviously, he's been through a lot this week but he's doing well and he's been making us laugh a lot."
'The Darjeeling Limited' stars Owen, Adrien Brody and Jason SCHWARTZMAN as three brothers taking a train trip across India.
Meanwhile, Owen was seen for the first time since leaving hospital on Saturday (01.09.07).
The 'Wedding Crashers' actor was photographed in the backseat of a car being driven by his brother Andrew.
A despondent-looking Owen and Andrew were travelling to close friend Woody Harrelson's home. Anderson arrived to visit Owen later that day. |
